Legend
A story is what the heart holds dear
When all that’s left is pain
When we have everything to fear
And seemingly no gain.
A story’s meant to bring us hope
In times when we despair
It is our lifeline like a rope
When nothing well can fare.
Whether it be true or not
In this, we can be sure
It dwells in us, a second thought
And saves us from the lure.
Unwittingly we learn the theme
Of kindness, grace, or hope
When waking as if from a dream
We clasp this rope to cope.
During deepest dark disaster
When all seems dim and strange
We know above there is a Master
From whom nothing is out of range.
His is the only story
That I delight in telling
His is of hope and glory
Our demons He is felling.
