Legacy

its a sham & a shame
only ourselves to blame
our not so distant past
memories that have held fast
of crimes against humanity
that continue relentlessly
wrought w/ heartless brutality
dismissed in a history of apathy
sanctioned by plausible deniability
dividing our human family
with this lie called democracy
rather call it an aristocracy
that shows its hypocrisy
by usurping authority
what a tragedy as a legacy
do they think they can grant themselves immunity
from The Justice of The Reality?
