leaves no longer dance

Leaves danced with giggles as breezes tickled trees.
Between each leaf I saw a clear blue sky.
My eyes found truth in every beauty given,
As though they could not recognize a lie.
I saw your beauty past the sky.
Beyond the world of man.
For though I thought I could not love again,
Your v0ice returned, reminding me I can.
But tears gave witness to the loss I felt
As all your love slipped quietly away;
Releasing all my dreams to quickly melt
Within the dimming of the light of day.
Now winds no longer tickle leaves
Cold ashes meet my eyes
No longer can I breathe again
Stilled by Love’s Demise.
