Leave Me Asleep
let me sleep, sleep, wake me not yet,
let me dream, dream on for a while,
the day is done, evening is set,
deep in repose I sport a smile.
Time rests uneasy on my brow,
smile on my face is thought of you,
my breath moves slowly to and fro,
let me dream this dream to be true!
peace resides near beat of my heart,
tranquil is mind, as is surround,
dreams journey to that hallowed spot,
serenity greets, love abounds.
a world of divisions, of pain,
in which we live counting our days,
dream is all where our love remains,
leave me dreaming, in sleep I stay.
