Learning Science From Miss Bee
Miss Bee has a horsey face and looks truly old.
Miss Bee was weird and tall, and sounded truly bold.
I saw her and was instantly and utterly put off.
Her voice was scratchy, like a worn-out brillo cough.
But soon her love for science and her enthusiasm
For it , Miss Bee began to teach.
Concepts unheard of pre-Miss-Bee were now
Within my twelve-year-old avid mind and reach.
Miss Bee did not rely on a lazy teacher’s boring text,
She taught us terrific stories, the best one always the next,
As facts and “ologies” around me were delightfully hurled,
Miss Bee opened me up to a magical scientific whole new world!
