Leap of Faith

Hesitation at the door
Seeking to wait, to learn more
Afraid to take a leap of faith

Knowing deep water waits beyond
That the path before doesn’t lead to just a pond
I’m afraid to take a leap of faith

Not yet knocking at the gate
Not yet ready, I’ll just wait
Afraid to take that leap of faith

But if I wait now I’ll never quite be
Ready for all that waits for me
So I’ll take the leap of faith

Help, now I’m drowning in my foolishness
Didn’t wait, now I made a mess
Taking a leap of faith

Smooth the water, get back out
Take my time, no need to shout
No more leap of faith

Can’t erase what’s been done
But in a while, it might be fun
Step in the water, no leap of faith
