From the day I chose you to be mine I knew what was in store
                                  Love, Destruction, Fear, and war

The initial rush will never be forgotten
The joy and wondrous times we have spent together will remain
as hieroglyphics carved into my mind, body, and heart
For the love we have will always be my definition of true art

For nothing is as it seems
We were torn apart for being not but a simple human being
Growing, learning, living, and loving we had met our destruction
Good times had faded but with the feelings I had remaining

the thought of knowing that we were falling apart began to shatter my heart
Fearing never to gather the pieces
I began to take these thoughts apart for I had begun rebuilding my heart
                                   Restored and ready for battle
Fighting this war is my heart I had known this from the start

Very authentic write. I like the last three lines.
