Lavender Spring

Maybe winter would move faster if we…
Tried to call a bumble bee.
But we lost his number in the snow.
And the fireflies refuse to glow.

Maybe what we need are more logs for the fireplace.
And more chairs to fill this empty space.
Even though no one wants to drive through the ice.
Extra pillows are always nice.

In the spring, we shall celebrate inside and out.
As vines rise tall and stout.
In spring, when we are indoors,
We feel excited from sun-warmed floors.

Even spring shadows seem splendid as well.
We can smell a lavender smell.
Is it a candle or the real thing?
I could use both this spring!

Fall and winter are on the other side.
Rusty sounds that start to glide.
Like that chain link fence starting to shutter.
Eating the shadows without any butter.

In the spring, we can’t recall.
What scents roamed the hall.
Winter is a time where there is no smell to notice.
Nothing but an indescribable hiss.

Winter is empty as worn out lavender smell.
So I tossed those dried up flowers as well.
