Listen to poem:

Late Night Drinking

Woke again too early night before, I had no sleep
Tired of all this drinking, I woke up to take a leak
Must have had a nightmare, I was high, up in the sky
but on the way back down again I found, the reason why

(Chorus)
Drinking late in the night, you say it can be fun
Next day it all comes back, you'll remember what you done
Lets go have a taste, to keep my dreams at bay
Tomorrow I'll wake up sober that's the best, I'm gonna feel all day

Got myself together had a stroll down by the sea
Cleared my head of all that stuff, let the wind go free
The sun above was burning, the day was rolling on
Had to have another glass, to sit and write this song

(Chorus)
Drinking late in the night, you say it can be fun
Next day it all comes back, you remember what you done
lets go have a taste, to keep my dreams at bay
Tomorrow I'll wake up sober that's the best, I'm gonna feel all day

Time for my siesta, I will lay down in the sun
Dream of the good old days, and what I have become
must make my mind up, of which road I will take
Tomorrow is another day, and a decision I will make

(Chorus)
Drinking late in the night, you say it can be fun
Next day it all comes back, you remember what you done
Lets go and have a taste, to keep my dreams at bay
Tomorrow I wake up sober that's the best, I'm gonna feel all day (Repeat)

Cheers, Janet. You write of a young person's game, I think. ; )

Hiya Doug, the love poems I wrote when I was a lot younger they probably turned me to drink ;) The New years day poem was finished recently, I am looking at changing my style of writing. Thank you for your comments I am going to have a look at yours now :)
