Late In the Midnight Hour

I was watching; and apparently he hurt another rookie; They were sheriff trainees and the one who hurt the other one was crying. I cried but I couldn’t even tell you why; maybe I could; But I don’t want to think that hard. You don’t see a lot of public displays of human compassion anymore. Politically it’s; “beat them down and turn them around” “We’ve got our corporate farms; and we’re stocked up with our arms” “Come help to keep this country strong.” I’m not even really dead set against that concept; I can imagine the degradation we’d all suffer if we were ever beaten. Somehow I don’t think it would help if you claim you were against violence And heaven help you if your wife or your daughters are lookers. So I cried but; what the hell why can’t everybody be saved? I mean why doesn’t God just pull the plug out of the wall huh? I mean can an atom be split without electricity? How about if it rains on all the oil until it’s rendered non combustible If we’re going to believe in hopefulness lets save everyone right? Some of us are going to make it, some of us aren’t; I don’t like that and it’s a failure from any angle you see it from. Maybe we’re just a manifestation of evolution and we must perish like the dinosaurs So I cried; probably because I wish; but wishes, they don’t Fill my mind up like the carnage I see on television; And all those empty promises for change; that we should quit believing. I think we waited too long and there’s not much we can do anymore. Rhymes Father bless the righteous man; and heaven help the Queen; And save us from the beastly man; that wants to eat our spleens Give Janice her Mercedes; and clear the purple haze; And give blessings to the ladies for; they set man’s souls ablaze. Standing on the corner; waiting for the man; Wondering what he’ll do to me; with this gun held in my hand. Dear Michael my arc angel, whose name I also bare; Let us fight the scourge of hell; till God takes us all rom there
