Late Dads Birthday
Things put into perspective,
As reminders come around,
Memories that touch us,
As we tread the hallowed ground.
Photo albums capture,
Things that then seemed nothing much,
But trigger happy thoughts in minds,
our lives, how they did touch.
Of course there’s always sadness,
Cos they can’t be with us now,
reflect upon the impact,
They had on our lives and how.
A metaphoric candle,
That today for him is lit,
And his life’s contribution,
Proved he did more than his bit.
So as you raise a glass tonight,
Remember all you had,
Thoughts conveyed of a special man,
Here’s to a precious dad.
