Last Time By B J Legros Kelley

Last Time

Those little arms reached up to be held

Last time a friendship felt a strong weld

A last glance, a laugh with a precious loved one

A last time, "Not now." to play catch with a son.

That hug to a sister, waves as we drove 'way

A last sunset, of gold, on that last dying day

And what would we swear if we knew that last hope

That was met with a "Not now" was only a "Nope!"

To forever, and ever, with no turning back

A memory vanquished of song on life's track.

                         Family, neighbors, comrades or friend

That chance for a 'Do lunch sometime!" has an end.

The world is filled with noise and the climb

And solitaire games, and the wasting of time

The moments are passing, they're passing away

Carpe diem, oh, my heart, seize the day <3

I am confused. Is someone from her family dying? Once I fell and could not get up for four hours. I thought I was going to die. My solution was to pray.

Hard as it may be, try to leave no space for regrets. These lines express it so well.

What would you do if you knew that it was to be your last day on earth ?
