Last the Test of Time
Last the test of time
Every heartbeat Echo's around a focused determined soul, Gasping for life but ever focused on his goal. Every footstep screams eternity, This pain it can not last, Where others have fallen, The chosen must hold fast.
In dream state is your focus, Eyes lock in disbelief, Verbal beating close to follow, But you stare it out with ease. Physical torment, Ever close my final mission, Gouging at my spirit, My own war of attrition.
The beaten rise victorious, Mentors praising close of play, Now patted on the back as civilian shades away. Rewarded for our pain, The marks still plain to see, But more pain is to follow, A life's pain it will be.
Blind are the tortures, Who destroy your child hood dreams, For every blow is echoed to his own adolescent screams. He marches on regardless, His actions famed by all, But those who once you barked a threat will stand to take your call.
This pattern will repeat as our planet spins its time, The vulnerable among us lured by arms or crime. This process is not imagined, Its surrounded us for years, By the thinking men of law, Forged with public tears.
As reflection shows its hand, Time undoubtedly will heal, But the scars of the protector will always be for real.
Often a memory, Or an image of a crime. . .
These are the unseen scars. . .
That Last The Test Of Time.
