Last Night, I Scared the Boogieman
I wore a tiny hat
knitted with threads of honesty,
but not knowing
what he had come to see…
I scared the boogieman!
Behind the creepy-crossed-eyes
I couldn’t tell, he was a sheep or a wolf
Yet to tell the whole truth,
I had myself to blame
Knowing
That’s how he made his fame-
Lame,
but as much as I hate the game…
I had to scare the boogieman
He was the one who was set out
to give me stress-
A corporate bully, at his best
who must’ve taken me for something less
Trying to make me stray
stealing my entire day
While with a grin
Made me a prisoner in my own skin.
That’s why!
I scared the boogieman.
