Last Night I Dreamt

Last Night I Dreamt..

In the corner of a dark room I stood
Nail biting to sooth my mood
As a figure sat across the room
I wanted to see him, but couldn’t move

His head moved left to right
Pounding fights ready to fight
You bet, he gave me a fright
As I shivered praying for light

He came closer, his chair so loud
Paralyzed I couldn’t make a sound
Then he stopped as if bound
With a gasp relief I found

At that moment something changed
So I stepped forward and saw the chains
Like an animal he was chained and caged
His eye watered, as he bit on his gag

His bounding bars I could now see
And the pain in his eyes feel
I could recognize him
Because he was me
