Last Laugh

I thought of you the other day
The way you used everyone around you
And how you beat up your life
What was your last thought
Was is heartache or shame
I remember you always telling me
That when you were gone I would be free
Free of your torture and your pain
But it seems everywhere I turn
Something reminds me of you again
I guess I always thought I had the last laugh
But you are gone from here
not having to deal with any shame or guilt
And I am still here with my thoughts of you
I guess the last laugh is on me
