It's heavens celestial blue With astral flecks of gold. It calls upon oceans, sky and heaven To lift a weary soul. It's serenity in all lifes chaos Mysterious wonders it does behold. I always class December's birthstone as Turquoise but I now find December has more than one stone. How exciting to see an amethyst in its raw state in the mine, that must have been amazing.

Your birthstone is beautiful. My birthstone is Amethyst a violet color. I have seen it in a mine unpolished. It shone with the lights the miners shown upon it. It is a stone of strength. have a nice evening my friend.

It is one of December's birthstones Darlene ( my birth month ) and is the accepted gem got the 7th and 9th wedding anniversaries. It is also the planetary stone for Capricorn and the zodiac stone for Libra. It comes from Afghanistan and is a soft blue colour with flecks of gold pyrite. I think it is beautiful.

Elizabeth, I am always wondering why one gemstone appeals to us and not another. I know Lapis lazuli appeals to many. I have tried to like it because of its psychic properties, but I cannot like it at all for myself. However, in this poem I appreciate your lapis lazuli, and I am amazed at how beautiful it is for you!

Thank you Caren. I've just started getting interested in crystals. Blue is my favourite colour so that's why the lapis lazuli appeals to me and I believe they help with creativity so I'm hoping it will help me write more!
