Land of the Shadows

They drift in masses,
Through streets,
 Through doors,
Through walls,
 And through Life,

They drift because they must,
 Slowly, Surely, Sadly,
They drift alone in many masses,
Unaware that beside them are them,

Through grey streets,
 Grey skies of great size,
Shadows in disguise,
 Help load the grey roads,

Drifting pathetically,
 Seeking comfort in dismay,
Loneliness in number,
 Is the smallest prison cell,

They'd scream,
 They'd cry,
But shadows don't have ears,
 Shadows don't have tears,
Shadows just appear when all is bright,
 And all is right,

But when the Sun goes down,
 And the shadow leaves,
Where to, do they go?

The Sun bore them,
 But the Sun bored them,
And alone they went,
    Lifeless,
Drifting in masses,
 Through streets,
Through doors,
 Through walls,
In the Land of the Shadows.
