Land of the Cherry Blossom

LAND OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOM

Your loyalty, efficiency, are world-values now:
Courage, tradition, generosity - with a bow.
Japan’s elegance - simple but perfectly-honed
Bonsai trees, Zen gardens - sanded, stoned.
Verse in haiku, temples silent:
And even if a whole lifetime was spent
Seeking a perfect cherry blossom,
It would not be a wasted lifetime in sum.
Perfection in everything Japanese believe
Lies in finding the essence to achieve.
We’ll smile with you when the horror is undone
And you again are the land of the rising sun.

The people of Japan always amaze me in their quest for perfection, Syd. In education, art and family values, their culture is unsurpassed. Excellent tribute to a nation that is struggling to recover. Have no doubt they will, though. Their tenacity is reflected in their history. Best wishes in Deb's contest. Love, Carolyn
