Land of Crime - Not Just a Rhyme

I stare at the broken flushing of the loo
Comparing it to the land where I grew
The flushing can be repaired
Unlike the tarninshed reputation of where I live; all smeared
Grey listed, Corrupt, Hell it's become the wild west
When it once was amongst the best
The locals don't care as long as money pours in
And happily they live in sin
Killing has become fashionable too
Just like the bomb that blew up a journalist for uncovering crimes
This is the new Malta no justice in the courts not in these times

Donald J. Trump's grandfather was exiled from Germany for his, "thoroughly unredeemable character", so there really is no excuse for crime on an island. Criminals should be banished for life forthwith! Aloha!

A miracle is needed. The politicians have their own clique

Heya Brigette, I’m delighted you highlight the corruption within your small island, and so long as you do, the state murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia will not be forgotten although I fear some of the big conspirators will remain at large, well penned, cheers David

I actually gave Daphne a mention in one of my earlier poems, (The powers we never see) it’s mainly about people above the law, a bit course but I needed to get it out of my system, I look forward to your short story Brigette, I will keep an eye out for it, cheers David

Thanks David. My aim is to give a wake up call for justice to be served for Daphne's assassination as well as to highlight other criminal activities that have plagued the Island since I was a child. It is getting worse by the second. I am planning on posting a short story here on poetry soup based on a crime of which I was the recipient in my younger days when I lived in Paceville. Thank you David.
