Lament's For Olasunkanmi

I'm wise hoping to be wiser
I'm creative begging to be exploited
I have it all
In a land of neglect
killing minds
with a toast to corruption

I came naked
not with a naked mind
creativity sleeps in my mind
Ideology marvels in my brain
begging to be flogged and picked
down the stairs it goes, in a land of weed

I'm yearning
pleading to be heard
hostility fertile on my ground
obscurants camp in my hut
blowing the whistle of life
careless the way it sounds
to the detriment of my home.
