Lake of Memory

Give me my tears
Tell me my fears
Falling down my despair
Forgetting why I am there

It’s the spirit of loss
It’s the ghost up ahead
The girl in the lake
I forget what she said

Riddles and guns
Nightlight and sun
Breathing out every sin
Believing I can not win

It’s the things that I broke
It’s the past that won’t leave
I remember her face
….White as the lake

I find the only place safe
Deep in the lake
I swim from everything gone
I dive towards the lake’s song

It’s the place that I’ve seen
It’s the end of my dream
I remember her eyes
….They’re as dead as my lies
