Laid To Rest
My heart lies cold and lifeless
And not beating in my chest
Your cold and hateful words
Has laid my tender heart to rest
I had loved you for so long
Waiting for your loving touch
Not caring the days gone by
Not worried overly much
But the days turned into weeks
And finally into years
And then my eyes grew dim
And I could not stop the tears
You had found yourself another
And I Believing you were mine
You had found this so amusing
That I had wasted all this time
Such sweet lies had passed your lips
But they too are as cold as mine
For I didn’t die alone my dear
I made sure you ran out of time
Now you heart lies cold and lifeless
And not beating in your chest
Your cold and hateful words
Has laid your spiteful heart to rest.
