Lady Luck
When is lady luck coming to find me?
For years I’ve been chasing her oh so blindly
I have searched for her under rainbows, tunnels, and waterfalls
But it seems that I can’t find lady luck at all
Maybe it’s luck on which I thrive
Maybe it’s her love that keeps me alive
Without lady luck I can’t survive
It’s her that shields me from danger
But how will I know her if she’s dressed like a stranger?
I don’t know but it seems as if I haven’t seen her lately
Then, who is at night stroking my head so gently?
Is it meant for me to meet her face to face?
I only see her when I’m at my lowest place
By then, I’m so deep into my troubles
That I don’t recognize
The sweet smell of her breath and the twinkle of her eyes
The sway of her hips or the rhythm of her thighs
Lady luck is always there to bring me to higher grounds
She will eventually come and see me
When she’s finished making her rounds
Tell her this time that I’m sure of what I want
A little fortune, contentment, and happiness
And of course there’s room for love
So, when I dream tonight, I hope it will be of her
I hope she’s wearing a white robe laced with sable fur
If I think hard enough, she will make a house call
But if she never visits me in my dreams
Then it’s not meant for me to see her at all
