Lady Bug Lady Bug

Gently held in the palm of a child's open hand
the funniest of fun bugs in all Bug Land
Cute and round with wings to fly
Orange with black polka dots that jive
She crawls onto the child's fingers
tingling the skin is she lingers
Lady bug a gift that brings childhood pleasures
she is one of natures beloved treasures
Lady bug flies onto the child's nose
spreads her wings as if to compose
Giggles erupt as she flies away
bringing smiles as child's play

Lady Bug Lady Bug
  play with me
Lady Bug Lady Bug
  flying free
Lady Bug Lady Bug
on my nose as I see
Lady Bug Lady Bug
  smiling back at me
