Lac De Panneciere

A chalice sunk deep into mother earth All around feeding, giving birth A gentle song through the sedge To the eye a gift you pledge And in your depths secret places Whispers, ghosts, smiling faces A house, a cafe, a retired church steeple A watery shrine devoid of people Your water tepid to the skin Sun doth shine and life begin Pike, the Perch, Trout and Roach To the light in stealth approach Birdsong calls and rolls your banks Echoes through the pine in thanks All is still and peace of will This porous heart your senses fill The sun descends and closes its eyes The moon reflects in starlit skies A gliding mist your surface slides And there within your secret hides

There's a great, uplifting, spiritual quality to this poem, Daniel. I like the way the "chalice" sinks into the earth and provides nourishment for nature's creatures. You write very well about nature and now I see your spiritual side as well. Very nice! Love, Carolyn
