La Luna
Not masculine like ruler Sun,
who with intensity at noon,
beats down on us - the fiery one!
Soft-glowing is the Goddess Moon.
She is La Luna – poets’ muse -
whose beauty makes the lovers swoon.
Strong light of day she does not choose.
Soft-glowing is the Goddess Moon.
Misty, silver, yellow-hued;
with ocean tides she is in tune.
With mystery she is imbued!
Soft-glowing is the Goddess Moon.
Sometimes part of her face she hides.
Sun vanishes. We see her soon
as through the starry skies she slides.
Soft-glowing is the Goddess Moon.
