Known to Allah

Don’t boast in vain or sing empty praise, Allah alone knows our right or wrong ways. The sins we’ve committed, knowingly or not, We’ll answer for them when we face His court. Do not laugh or mock, stop your disdain, Do not trust in stature, be it great or plain. Remember always, without fail or delay, You’ll rest in the earth’s embrace one day. Who ever thought of death in life’s dance, Amidst carpets where spirits prance? Sometimes it halts me, sometimes gives me might, This thought—so clear, revealed in my sight!
