Know That In My Soul I Will Always Have a Scar

The world still spins how can it be
You’re gone from my presence and it’s killing me
Your light has doused from its once fiery flame
Now I’m alone and I’ll never be the same

Wherever you’ve gone no matter how far
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar
To heaven above or to the dust in a star
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar

Fate is ugly as it stabs my heart like a knife
I’m glad I had the chance to know you in life
I walk the abandoned road without you totally blind
I will always picture the good times we had in my mind

Wherever you’ve gone no matter how far
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar
To heaven above or to the dust in a star
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar

You filled my existence with dreams and hope
Now there shattered around me and I have to cope
I see your memory still in things I witness everyday
I gain aspiration from every gleaming sunray

Wherever you’ve gone no matter how far
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar
To heaven above or to the dust in a star
Know that in my soul I will always have a scar

For your love I will always feel the yearn
I take solace in what you left behind for others to learn
Your testament will grow and breathe within my heart
But I will forever be affected by the way we had to part

Very strong piece! The cadence of this line "Know that in my soul I will always have a scar" within it makes it more unique.
