Kisses Are... Perfect

Kisses are windows
Windows that I can’t seem to climb out of
Or want to
Kisses are doorways
With big padlocks
There’s a key in my pocket
Open out your palm
Kisses are pathways
Those cute garden paths
Bordered with lilies
Kisses are cups of life giving nectar

None of us understand life
We know nothing of real feeling
Only conjured up fantasies
Re-invented lies we tell each other
So those others stick around
For kisses

But kisses are windows
Windows to the rooms
Where true love hides
Kisses are doorways
The same doorways
Still padlocked with lies
There’s a key in pocket
Please give me your palm
Kisses are pathways
Whether the lilies border our lives
Its still sweet

We know nothing of each other
We know only the words
We both speak
But yet these words are truth
Make no mistake
We know nothing but each other
The desires we both know sting true

Kisses are still windows
“Too high” windows
I’ll hold you up
So you can peer through
Kisses are dreams
Kisses are the dreams
That all little kids dream
Kisses are the moments that
We know that life seems
Perfect
