Kiss Their Hair

I wake up in early morning light
While others breathe in their deep sigh
I kiss their hair
And watch their cartoon blankets rise and fall
Did I do it right or not at all
Sometimes my heart is high
Lost in nostalgia and time gone by
The fast forward button is stuck, make it stop
Hold right there for a photo opp
So when I'm old and I'm missing you
I can look back at the love we grew
My own rewind button
While everything else flies forward
