Wouldn't it be nice just to pour some gold in to our cracks and mend all our broken pieces, perhaps then we would embrace our flaws too.

Last Night was a beautiful night
The fire pit burning bright
Today is full of rain
With barometric pressure pain
Blanket on to keep me warm
While I listen to the outside storm
Hot cup of Joe by my side
Taking life in my stride
Nursing all my cracks and creases
Mending all my broken pieces
Taking time out for my heart
Making myself a beautiful art
Filling holes with lacquer Gold
So I can be no longer old
Fragments bonded back together
So I can withstand any weather
Kintsugi highlights imperfections
Mending all the lost connections
Embracing flaws for all to see
Think I’ll pour some gold in me.

Paula, You have a special way of looking at things and dealing too. From moment to moment and day to day we can only deal in our own special way. Enjoyed the poem. Debbie

Thanks Debbie, I have read some of your poems, Ballads, sonnets, light verse and so on too and particularly enjoyed the imagism of the Weeping Willow and Shadow Dancer. Well penned. :)

some poetry walks you memory deep....other times a gentle ride connecting one to the wonderment of it all but there are ones such as this that echo fill your walk into the knowledge you do not walk alone....one who can greet the rising sun, wear a smile and meet life on life's terms wherever the day meanders....great poem, such a refreshing honest looking in the mirror while Emily's bird sings in sweetest gale
