Kingdom Come

It’s a race to meet the stars,
It’s beyond the mileage in cars,
We retire in the ambience of the night,
We ponder on how we have walked through the light.

Running against the time,
We hope to see through the gloomy clime,
Hope takes flight in the day,
We search the redemption way.

We don’t understand why some things are beyond us,
We look to a higher force,
One that will ease our fight,
Aid us to walk through the night.

Though the best things in life may be free,
They don't give us the ultimate key,
That’s why we pray for the Lord’s kingdom to come,
Until we transcend the earthly dome.
