Kingdom

You tell me it’s easier To see things in black and white You think I make it too hard Nothing’s easy when all I can do Is see things through my eyes A crumbling fortress With faulty security A broken levee and shaky foundation The kingdom of me You think there’s always time for words When there’s nothing left to say I say there’s no time living ‘Cause some part of us dies every day A crumbling fortress With faulty security A broken levee and shaky foundation The kingdom of me You think you can just fly away And soar up to Heaven But as my wings decay I just plummet to the bottom Even with patched wounds There are still leaks A windowless penitentiary The kingdom of me
