King of the Jews
King of the Jews
It had read
Nailed to the cross
Above His head
Sent to earth to die
Yet, some people didn't realize
It was for you and I
People stood around
Mocking Him there
Kids would stand around
They said, if you're Christ
Come down and save yourself, too
He hung there, not hardly saying a word
He knew what was about to happen soon
Afternoon came
It just wasn't the same
It became dark
He then made a remark
Father, Father, why
Why, have you forsaken me
Took His last breath
Finally died, you see
Off the cross, He came
Wrapped Him in sheets
Having to do that
Just was no treat
Soldier stood by
After buried there
Leaving Him alone
They didn't dare
Morning came
Stone rolled away, they did see
He had risen from the dead
Now in heaven, waiting for you and me
