Kindness Wins

Even in a world of fear and hate, kindness wins
            it’s when we realize that’s what we need, healing begins
even through the mist of darkness that we brave today
                   we can understand the needs of those life cast  away

The smallest gesture, nonetheless , a giant in result
               the perfect circumstance for love and caring to consult 
no matter what or how the kindest thought may be expressed
              it all adds up to tenderness of deed for those oppressed

And not just those of patent need can kindness advocate
                      as everyone in this foreboding time now can relate 
 we need each other, all of us, one fold to rise above
                     to forego all our differences, permission to just love
