Keeper of Sand

Silent stillness moves
	swimming upon backs of dunes
		tracking purpose across currents
of time.

Sampling air
	spilled from hunted lungs
		fates final dance
	upon trails
left by fleeing flesh.

Only the wind is a witness
	to natures commands
		for nomadic keeper of sand
	with eyes screaming death
		over muted tongue
	coarse skin coiling – striking
the deed is done.

Blood moon rises
	revealing
		a haunt of shadows
	next prey
on the run.
