-Keep It Simple And Just Enjoy Poetry

Commenting on others poems is a personal choice
There is no book on “Comment Rules”
We are all adult and individual
To do as we choose

There are no wrongs or rights ….”only respect”
So we should do as “we” please
Comment or not comment 
Not to be judged or appease

Personally, l like to comment
I also like to receive
I love the social side of P.S
Its part of the PS joy “for me”

“I “comment on poems l truly enjoy
Yes “ l “ like to return a comment “if l can”
Only if it comes from a place of sincerity 
And the poem ….l truly understand

I have actually no expectations regarding comments
Each to their own is my policy
I am not offended or upset
It does not affect my poetry

Yes, it makes me feel good to receive positive words 
As l value and appreciate others thoughts
I enjoy the interaction and friendship connection
Encouragement and support
 
There are so many different levels of poetry
Many advanced levels way above me….l cannot comprehend
So l will not comment….if l do not understand
Not even when its to one of my lovely poet friends

I will not comment on a poem l do not understand
No matter how beautiful or as much as l would like too
I would be lying to myself and the poet
To myself and other poets “l will be true”

So, who cares if some behave childish playing tit for tat
Avoid or ignore …..it is actually their issue
Focus in life about what really matters
Not…. “who says what to who!”

Keep It Simple And Just Enjoy Poetry!!

Hi Deb., i enjoyed this poem, sometimes if I do not understand a poem Ican spend up to 2 hours figuring it out, for my special friends, but if i don't understand, I pass Most times i don't have time to answer as I am pinching time from our business. hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Awwn, beautiful Deb, you're the sweetest! Poetry is actually very subjective for individual souls, but I think, it's something that nourishes our spirits and brings healing to our hearts.. We don't need to be metaphorical or full of techniques if our conscience yearns to express itself with simplicity.. You are a gorgeous poetess and we all are different in our style of writing, but what unites us is the reason and goodwill of poetry..We read poetry to enjoy its very essence and I agree with you

Personally, I love reading your poems because they bring me so much soothe and comfort, as your articulate them with a soulful meaning, yet with simplicity.. As for me, I developed the habit of writing in complexity of metaphors just because, at that time (till now) I've been going through much emotional turmoil and wanted to hide away behind my poetry..so it's okay if people don't understand my poems sometimes haha, but your genuine and heartfelt support has truly touched my soul, dear Deb.. You've a golden heart! Always stay amazing, true to yourself and do the right thing.. The fact that your read my poetry, this already means so much to me & I deeply appreciate it. Well said, my friend. My New Year's resolution. Write poetry for poetry's sake and not worry about who does or does not like or comment. I must say, I like to follow poets like you who are always honest and will help me be a better poet and a better person. Have a great and creative New Year.

nicely said, deb! we all do what makes us comfortable, i guess. for me, it's a time thing - i don't like to spend that much time on the site so i scan the recently posted poems and comment on the ones that call out to me. it's wonderful to get comments, but it's okay if i don't get very many. ~ have a very happy new year!

Exactly Ilene….its nice getting comments but if you don't you don't ….. it doesn't distract from your poem in anyway. We are all different and lead varied lives…we do what we makes us happy….no rules! Happy New Year to you also my friend x

I'm with you on this subject, Deb. One of the most difficult things to learn, I think, is the difference between "read" and "review", and "critique" and "criticize".
