Keeping Busy.

What is the point of staying home
when the kids have fled the nest.
I'll get a job for twenty bob
and weekends I will rest.
I will sweep the streets of London
if that is what it takes and when I've done
it's home I'll run to bake the kids some cakes.
I'll invite them all at weekend
I'll offer to make them tea.
Then we can chat about this and that
and the way things used to be.
Then when the weekends over
and they've all gone home by train
Monday morning soon comes around
and it all begins again.
