Kate

© Ben Burton 7/14/2015 There was no rioting No businesses were burned Despite the burning grief From most who saw and heard A sanctuary town Like Tombstone in its day Where lawlessness abounds Is just a shout away And what becomes the cost The villainous descent An innocent is lost Which none can comprehend The father with his girl The much belovéd Kate She says, "Help, Dad, I'm hurt" His CPR can't save The horrible event Illegal tragedy Is seen on FNN The White House does not speak For anything on Fox The libs will execrate Their petty, sinful box Won't let truth permeate Without a leftist cause There is no one to blame Since libs cannot be wrong Too bad about poor Kate

I liked this Kate. Even if a little too late: Imagine, I was her impossible mate Before I d be a thick neck-knape And touch the undeserved grape. So, I kneel in front of your poem gate: Please forgive my miserable fate. I ask forgiveness for all who still wait To do all that ought to do for our Kate.
