Ask the Indus to where it flows, from Tibetan mountains it goes, to big blue Arabian Sea in the city of Karachi! It watered that ground for eons, it has raised heroes and icons, people from same genetic pool, divided by British! to rule! Oppressed suppressed enslaved and chained, the Victorian empire gained, condemned whole civilisation, poverty through domination! In this land of the proud afghans, dividing Durand line was drawn, separate them from Pakistan, a vast arid state for Patans*! Many tribal flags in this land, invaders came to rob, disband, people lost their identity, sowing religious strife plenty! Afghanistan as is today, is seeking to stand up and say, please leave us to have our home rule, we are a people! not your mule! *Patans = In India and Pakistan, Afghans are called Patans! Possibly because they settled in the city of Patna at some phase in history. 8th position Written 30/08/2021 Afghanistan poetry contest Kai Michael Neumann sponsored! 8 syllables each line

Excellent history of Afghanistan, Krish. Congratulations! The country is indeed torn by competing tribal issues as it faces invaders who can't leave the nation in peace. A true, modern day tragedy. Be well. Brian

Indeed Brian. we do not learn from history and big powerful countries have made it a business to destroy the poorer nations.

Thanks Gershon! The Afghan’s are victims of world’s greed and their own religious leaders!
