kaleidoscope of emotional suffering

each day
       is my living wake
I wish you cared
   & they weren't fake
my eyes are dry
            tears made of dust
    never mind
        no one's fussed
  all the f"cks
& suppressed damns
         are my quiet poetry slams
     rotate the fear
rearrange
the dread
     ego & id
   are well fed
days unlived
       nights unslept
   scarcity of love is kept
no howls of pain
         but they twist & turn
   retina & eyelids burn
                 tunnel vision
                 bottlenecks
      sort through
   my personal effects
recalibration
       set in stone
    through it all
I felt alone
          reaching out
with brightly coloured gem
     fear itself
I couldn't stem
         hold the image
    lock in view
             lose balance
  as all askew
        life made up
    of pretty rubble
            but I'll commit
        to be no trouble

"my eyes are dry tears made of dust" thats just brilliant! Well we never know ones intention, or whats behind someone trynna show care or a simple " how are you" which seems a bit like a puzzle, for me.. this is a soul hitting poem! And thw way youv arranged words fit the theme of the poem, like scattered thoughts! Sara likes an F word in a poem! Lol i think she will appreciate this! Love your use of ego n id here! Brilliant poem which shows self awareness too Pleasure reading 💫

Yeah that’s it Laurentine let it all filter out through the Kaleidoscope of emotional suffering, a manic sense of delirium coming together, would make powerful lyrics for any genre of metal band, love how you twist that kaleidoscope into a promise of being no trouble, when everything appears already wrecked, that to me is the most unsettling part, and what poetry is all about, an absolute gem, and a huge fave for me, cheers David

We do need release, unfortunately we probably missed the opportunity of joining metal bands, but hey we do have our poetry to filter and smash things together all at once, this one might just well inspire me 🤘

I let sleep deprivation drive this one David, although now I'm thinking what metal band I want to pitch it too 😊 I do recall the very first time I looked through a kaleidoscope and tried to figure out how it all worked and whether I could get the same visual twice - perhaps we're all those little children trying to get our heads round how it all plays out. Thank you for helping this one fall into place with a great comment and a fave 🥰

Thanks Alison! Wrote this in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, so think that helped! 😊
