Justify

The end will justify my lies
A subconscious rule that leads
I know that whatever I sacrifice
It just helps me find the means

There’s nothing I can ever do
There’s nothing I can hold
The numbness and my will to live
It only makes me feel cold

This voice I use to word my pain
It can only say one thing
The tones I hum are bred from this
You are my world to sing

Take me far away from hope
Take me far from bliss
Show me why I need to breathe
For those lips I never kissed?

A storm of rage now beckons me
It shows me why we lie
Just give me something to throw away
Maybe that way it will die

And the circle pulls me close
Until the end of time
I am retreating into dust
The sands that state their rhymes
But I can still hear it here
Redemption and its song
I am retreating into fear
It is with nothing I belong
