This winning poem is brilliantly written William! You have opened our eyes to the reality of life in a nursing home. My daughter is a nurse and worked in a nursing hospital for over ten years. She used to bring in her own DVD movies to help entertain the patients and they really appreciated movie night. Congratulations on your deserving win. Blessings and Aloha, Connie xxoo

I spent a day with our neighbor of long ago ere his passing, the impetus of my writing, I'm envious of the spiritual strength that sustains your daughter daily. It didn't bother me that he slept in his wheelchair e'er so oft while there, for it allowed me to reminisce when he was young and I younger, as well as, observe the returning smiles all around. I'm delightfully pleased with your heartfelt share, Connie, Aloha nui!

you painted the perfect picture of a not so perfect life style. I have visited them a few times like to sing Xmas Carols, etc. It's so sad the ones in there who have no family or visitors. Very nicely done, William.

My last visit with my older friend, from morning till visiting hour ended at 8 pm, I wrote what I saw since he mostly slept in his wheelchair. Just being by his side, not knowing it'll be our last, until we meet again--Andrea, you are a dear, Aloha!

Attention-getting look inside the nursing home, where many readers have never been. It is generally a busy place, especially for those who are able to move around and visit the game rooms, etc. Thanks, William, for sharing this.

That it is, Milt, as I've just mentioned my friend who's my senior in years, hadn't much time so I spent a day there with him sharing our last memories together -- I am blessed to share this, my friend, Aloha!
