Just Promise Me You'Ll Try

You don't have to promise me the moon and the stars, I won't have any use for them. You don't have to promise me the heavens in the clouds, Because I know someday I will be up there. Don't promise me all the money in the world, I know I can get my own. Don't promise me diamonds and pearls, I am not much of a material girl. Don't promise me you'll love me forever, Because someday that love will fade. Don't promise me you'll always be there, Because people tend to drift away. Don't promise me you'll try harder, There will be no room for mistakes. Don't promise me promises that you can't keep, Promises are meant to be broken. Just promise me you'll try. You'll try to make me happy. You'll try to see past my imperfections. You'll try to see what I don't see. You'll try harder. You'll try, just promise me that. Alicia Griego 2/12/02
