Just One

a breeze did blow gently
as it will
and as it blew
one single leaf fell

the trees were green
and full even still
yet one of the first leafs born
from spring has fell

one leaf born in spring
and lived through summer
one small piece of God's
awesome wonder

what was once green
now pale yellow
where as we turn gray
it turned yellow

as hair falls so do the leaves
or vice versa

days pass like years for leaves
from spring to summer
a life time
to fall and eventually crumble

ashes to ashes and dust to dust
and so will end each of us

I'm not an idol worshiper, John, but, unfortunately, the American public certainly is! Daver

This is a wonderful poem. I like the flow of the words. The message is consistent. The leaves will be changing real soon. I will be looking forward to the new colors. Great job! ~Joseph
