Just My Luck

I made a wish for you today
But it didn't seem to be enough
So to make sure my wish came true
I tried some other stuff

I tried blowing all the candles on my birthday
Turns out they were the trickster ones
Went to exhale onto a dandelion
But one seed had decided to hang on

I rubbed my hands on a rabbits foot
But the bunny was still attached
Was about to wish on 11:11
When it changed to 12 with a snatch

I look everywhere for a four leaf clover
But all I could find were three
Tried putting a horseshoe in my pocket
The horse objectively kicked my knee

Threw up a penny and made a wish
But it landed on its tail
And all that occurred was money short
When I threw it in the wishing well

So I said a little pray to God above
I'm still waiting for that reply
Thought I wished upon a shooting star
Was actually dust on my eye

I have done all of this and more
And just when I thought I got through
I heard it from my best of friends
You were someone else's wish come true
