Just Love

Would love find any pledge of allegiance
Where justice calls for vengeance
Would you turn the other cheek
When you could rightfully cast your brick

Can our hearts take all these pounding waves
Or do we recede to self made caves
Can we today live fruitfully
While loving dutifully

Is love just or is it just love
The very commandment from above
Or is it the love for justice
That calls vengeance into practice

There is truly a place for the two
For the Lord's word is true
That we love in place of the litigations we might not afford
For vengeance belongs to the Lord
