Just Like Elvis
I spent my common sense at the nearest drug store,
Left my sensibility on the 3rd aisle floor,
I asked the pharmicist what new medication has arrived
I need something quick that will take away pain or make me die
He handed me a poison that just came in
"It's from the Amazon, but I think it will do the trick"
"Take two tablespoons every two hours
Only if your lucky enough too still be alive!" he said with a howl,
I raced past memories and scurried home
I did it just like Elvis and took it on the throne
Oh! Porcelaine delight here I come
But before I could finish singing "Jail House Rock" my body began to feel numb
The words and inspirations of youthful days flashed before my eyes
For a brief second I was almost convinced I'd seen a white light
