Just Let It Go

Skies grey and vacant
The sun just a shadow
Smog a nice blanket
Time to let it go

Bellies to the brim
Nature’s routine trim
All we’ll ever know
Time to let it go

Engines break white noise
Cities always grow
Nature a buried toy
Time to let it go

Our friends fleeing
A new state of being
Some say they’re extinct
Could it be linked?

Our bulk is lonely
Seems like us only
It’s almost our time
For a downward climb

And through highs or lows
Our hands are tied, so
All we’ll ever know
We can’t take to go
